Step 1: Review the "Host a House Concert" page on Sorcha's website

Step 2: Submit a House Concert Host Request Form

Step 3: (1-2 Months Ahead) Customize + Confirm Date and Details, in collaboration with Sorcha

  • Where will your house concert be held? Indoor / Outdoor / Etc.

  • Will your concert be unplugged or amplified?

  • What time of day do you prefer: Brunch Time? Early Afternoon? Evening?

  • Do you want to make it a potluck? Include details in your invite, and adjust your start time accordingly.

  • Will you pay Sorcha a guaranteed fee, or pass along suggested donations made by attendees?

Step 4: (1-2 Months Ahead) Invite Guests!

  • Once you have a guest list that fits the size of your space, send invitations (include “space is limited” if you expect a strong turnout).

  • As a private event, many hosts list their general location, then publish their street address only to confirmed attendees.

  • Gather RSVPs so you and Sorcha have a headcount.

Step 5: (1 Week Ahead) Finalize Guest List, Send Event reminder

  • Tally RSVPs and share final headcount with Sorcha.

  • Send Event reminder to your confirmed attendees — include location, parking details, what to bring (potluck dish/lawn chair/blanket?) and other relevant info.

Step 6: (Day of Concert) Prep, Welcome, Enjoy!

  • Decorate, lay out drinks and snacks or potluck table

  • Welcome guests and introduce the Musician(s)

  • Provide a donation basket and encourage guests to show their appreciation via donations to the musician(s)

  • Enjoy the Concert!

Step 7: (Day After The Concert) Send Follow Up Notes to Attendees + Musician(s)

  • Send a note to Attendees, with a thank you and any other details… (we should do that again, next season!)

  • Include a link to the Musicians’ website, social media pages, and any other info.

  • Invite Attendees to upload photos + videos to a Shared Folder for Musicians + Attendees to enjoy — clarify any guidelines around sharing media publicly, to protect the Host (if tagging locations) + Musicians (respecting their wishes).

  • Send a note to Musicians, share any feedback from Attendees and a note that attendees have the link to the Shared Folder for media & upload invitation.

  • Feel awesome that you did a great thing to benefit many. Bask in the collective gratitude.
