This songwriting offering from singer-songwriter Sorcha Cribben-Merrill leads you on a guided exploration through the origins of your creativity and what pulls you toward certain songs, into the many components of a compelling lyric or chorus or melody arc, and encouragement to bravely step onto a blank page to create our own. No songwriting experience necessary. Optional: bring a musical instrument if you have one.
The setting is a stunning treehouse cabin, high up in the trees, filled with natural light, on the breathtaking coastal Maine Seguinland Institute campus. Learn more about Seguinland’s mission and programs. This workshop was part of “Wintering: Writers Retreat for Gap Year and College Students.”
Wintering 2023 will be led by Prof. Jenny O’Connell, MFA. Jenny is an award-winning writer and wilderness guide. Philip Francis, PhD, and other faculty will lead segments. Philip is the Founder/Director of Seguinland Institute and a longtime professor of Philosophy & Religion.
